'The Last of Us' New Mulitplayer

It was just a few days ago actually that i had posted why you shouldn't miss 'The Last of Us' multiplayer and now there giving us even more reason not to miss out on it with a new (free) dlc for another multiplayer mode. Currently there are only two modes with Supply Raid and Survivor now we have the introduction of Interrogation mode.

As i am a big fan of The Last of Us online this just gets me even more excited and the mode does sound pritty damn cool. Basically, the interrogation mode comes down to the usual 2 teams; one team protecting a safe and another trying to break into the safe, assuming its a safe full of supplies for your clan. So what they attackers have to do to find the location of this safe, is to interrogate 5 members of the opposing team to get enough information to find the safe. When the team has located the safe it really turns into a basic death match to kill the other players and get to the safe and get the supplies.

The interrogations themselves are said to be like special execution kills but will take a longer time to actually perform, meaning if you're caught in the act it'll be rather easy to kill you. What im interested in though is how this will work with the end result. For example the modes just now, even if you lose and die so many times, you can still walk away with enough supplies for your clan to survive. I would like to think, if this is a safe full of supplies the losing team would walk away with nothing meaning there clan will lose members making this mode much more tactical than the others as winning is the key factor.

This mode in my opinion works brilliantly with the game and im really excited for it to come out and think most fans of the multiplayer will no doubt be pleased with what naughty dog are bringing to the franchise.

Are you excited for more of 'The Last of us'? and are you hoping for a story mode dlc? let me know in the comments.

Concerns about Beyond Two Souls

This is a game im really looking forward to, with big film industry names of Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe its sure to be a big hit when its released, right? Well with the game trailer above it describes the game, the concept and really what its all about, but with all this information it does raise a few concerns.

First my concern is the  gameplay aspects of the game. Its said that you can control both Jodie Holmes(Ellen Page) and her entity that is connected with her, Aiden. My concern about this aspect is how the game will work both of these concepts together and for it make sense. Will it be a case that you can always control Aiden or will it only be some missions that you can use it. With a number of game play videos it is quite confusing with actions scenes of Jodie and other aspects showing how you use Aiden, so with a few months still to be release its a game that not everyone is fully certain on the actual gaming aspects of the game.

Another big concern is the span of the story for the game. The plot is based around Jodie Holmes and you will take her through a journey from the age of 5 to 23. What concerns me about this, is the fact that that is a lot of years of a lot of again confusing gameplay. It sounds like this could be a great story and would stand brilliantly with a good movie but a game? It is a tad iffy in my view. It could turn out to be amazing for sure but everything ive seen so far just looks like a good story and how the gameplay will work with the story is my biggest concern with this game. The video above shows like a number of different Jodies, for example the young girl to the Gothic themed and then the early twenties. What i want to know is how the actual gameplay will work with this large scale of the developing character. Sure stories within games are becoming bigger hits with AAA titles, like The Last of Us. But the gameplay aspects have to be apparent from the outset and everyone knew with The Last of Us what basic gameplay to expect. With Beyond Two Souls it isnt as clear.

The game will have Drama, action and a thrilling story, but how the gameplay will make this a good game and not just a story, to me, is unclear. One thing is for sure im really excited about its release and anticipating something great.

Watch the video above and Let me know what you think about Beyond Two Souls and if you have any concerns about the game.

Why you shouldn't miss 'The Last of Us' multiplayer

'The Last of Us' obviously is no doubt the biggest release this year and debated one of the best exclusives on PlayStation to date. With its moving story and amazing character development throughout it truely has merited that accolade to say the least. But after its brilliant story mode that will leave you in shock, have you in tears and leave your jaw firmly placed on the floor for days, you really shouldnt stop the game there.

Most would suspect that with great story based games comes a lazy, repetitive and tiresome mulitplayer and its seen with a number of games, that the online just doesn't cut it. With the likes of Uncharted, Tomb Raider, God of War and more, all bringing outstanding gameplay mechanics and great storylines for the player to experience, but companies are adamant on adding a poor quality online mode that seem like its just been made for the sake of it. Online modes that just dont do the game justice, bringing nothing new to the table making it something we all just overlook.

The Last of Us online takes things to a whole new level of brilliance. It something new, different, innotave and stands along side with the story as an absolute treat that you shouldnt miss. What makes The Last of Us online so special is that it brings a severe tension for your own survival. Most games you run about like a headless chicken shooting everything in site and running rampage. This is something you cannot do in The Last of Us.

Whats nice about the multiplayer is that it brings a story to your cause. Its not just heres the map, these are the bad guys kill everyone. You have a specific purpose. You choose between a survivor or a firefly and you are given your own clan. This clan is completely AI and you never actually see them but you have to care for them and the game makes it brilliantly that you genuinely care about them. Pete is making toast, awww Pete what ye like. It notifies you what your group are doing while surviving in the camp, letting you know how many are healthy, hungry or sick. So what you have to do is go on supply raids and collect, well, supplies to feed your group and grow your clan. The more survivors you have the more supplies you'll need to get. To get these supplies you enter a 4v4 death match basically and you can collect supplies that are scattered across the map and kill the opposing team members stealing their supplies. If you dont get enough supplies for your group they begin to get hungry then sick and become infected killing off a number of people in your group ... Katie is eating the corpse of Pete, FUCK SAKE KATIE!

Giving more purpose in the game, there is a number of tasks you have to do to avoid deaths within your clan. An example, a massive pack of fireflys are passing by your camp, so now as well as getting supplies in the matches you must either, get between 3-9 downs, revive 5-15 team mates and so on. If you fail to succeed in these tasks, a large percentage of your clan will die. This adds a bigger purpose in the matches you play and again giving you more meaning to the game than just kill the other guys. With The Last of Us you really are fighting for your survival.

As i said, you cant go running around gun blazing here as if you die you're basically giving the opposin team supplies and you're losing your chance to keep your clan healthy. Because of this fact you really do fear for your own life. The game focuses a lot on stealth, movement and catching your opponent off guard. However if you are caught and shot down, you will be left crawling on the ground looking for a team mate to help you before you die. This aspect adds a great sense of danger as you try to crawl away and the opponent chases you down slamming you to the ground and smashing your face with a gun, leaving you in rage and will have you screaming for your life, it really is something extraordinary.

To win and get all the supplies you need you will have to be patient, crafty and smart to out wit your opponent. As, like in the story, you can craft certain items, online is no different you have to find the parts across the map to create bombs and medikits to help you survive and in doing so really creates a special kind of online experience.

Just like the story it will have you tense throughout the whole match, fearing for, not only your own life, but others within your clan and it is an experience you do not want to miss. So if you have The Last of Us, completed the story or not, multiplayer is something you have to try for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

Xcom: Enemy Unknown Review

Xcom: Enemy Unknown is a tactical piece of art with its 2 turn based gaming style it brings something new and fresh to the table that is difficult, time consuming and very enjoyable.

The game brings you into a world where alien life has took home on earth and there main cause is destruction, this sparks the Xcom mission to rid the world of these extra terrestrials and calm the panic across the globe. You play as the commander and your objective is to control the Xcom squad in killing off the aliens and restore the peace within the world. Your role as the commander is to control basically the whole operation and the completion of the game lies on your shoulders.  Giving out instructions to what the scientists should research next, what the engineers need to make and build for the next project, where to put satellites across the globe to intercept UFO's, these are just a few of the many things you have to control as commander of the Xcom operation. All these aspects are easy to learn but hard to get right. Numerous hours can be spent on putting out satellites and interceptor ships but one small overlook can have a country in panic and this is something that you dont want to happen.

" So it is very important you learn the best tactics..."

With each country having its various benefits to the operation ; more engineers, more scientists, squad members, money, equipment and more, it is futile that you tend to the needs of every country to create a well structure organization. This deems very difficult as anything can go wrong at any given moment. If you decide to take on a mission to wipe out the alien life forms after a UFO crash, deploying your best men, equipping them with the best utilities you have and still fail, the whole operation will be hanging by a thread and it is very difficult to restore peace within the country that you have failed in. So it is very important that you learn the best tactics with the different squad types to stop failure being an option.

you feel a strange attachment to these characters ... "

Tactics and soldier variety is the real beauty that sets this a side from any other game. Hiring a number of soldiers, all beginning at rookie level, it is your job to take them to the battlefield and promote them through the ranks creating different attributes and abilities for each. With a maximum number of 6, the squad can vary from Heavy, Assault, Support and Marksmen each with there own type of equipment to create a well based squad for any mission. But having variety in soldier isn't enough on the battlefield. Being tactically smart is the key in winning any mission. As you are met with a number of different enemies also with different abilities you have to take a real understanding in how the maneuver on the map and you have to be careful when positioning you squad. You have only two turns to position where you want your soldiers and what to do, one slip up of maneuvering can see one of your best men die on the field and it will leave you heartbroken. That's right, heartbroken. As the game has such depth with the customization of your characters, creating the way they look, how they fight and even renaming them with nicknames you feel a strange attachment to these characters and watching them fall on the battlefield is a tragic event.

" ... they come off dull and you feel no real emotion for them "

The same however can not be said for the supporting cast. As you progress you are met with a number of other characters within the research labs and engineering labs that lead you through the story but they come off dull and you feel no real emotion for them as they dont develop much as individuals. There is also the cliche of the council dictating your every move who seems to be bald man in a dark room that you never see, makes you lose any connection to the supporting cast creating a mundane story at best.

Nonetheless, Xcom: Enemy Unknown is tactically splendid and will have you sitting for hours putting the world back to its original form and destroying all alien life form reducing the panic across the globe. With a mix of tactics behind the scenes and on the battlefield each aspect will have you satisfied with what youve accomplished outweighing the poor supporting cast and unexciting story, leaving a more than enjoyable game for tactical lovers.

PlayStation Plus Games of the month JULY

Before buying my PS plus subscription i found it rather difficult to actually find the games on the web that were available for this month. There were a countless number of websites that gave me previous games that were available but nothing very clear on what the new releases were. So after purchasing, i was very pleased with the games and it will be something that i will be buying more regularly i thought i would do a monthly post of the games to look out for with PS plus and the others that are available.

Each month i will show my two favorite games of the month and the others in a list that come out to keep things short n sweet.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown -
This is by far my favorite of the selection from PS plus this month. Its a type of game ive never played before  and its just brilliant. Its a nice tactical game and anyone who likes hard thinking games where u need to out smart your enemy it is something you should consider playing. A real gem in my opinion.

                                                                                                              Saints Row the Third -

Fun, stupid, over the top game play creates a fun game worth checking out. The customization you have within the game i thought was very nice and you can create your character to look basically like anything you want. And for the gameplay its generally fucking stupid, but far too much fun to give it a miss.

The others for the month of July include:

PS3

  • Battlefield 3
  • Uncharted 3
  • Payday - The Heist
  • Little big Planet Gokarting
  • Catherine
  • Demon's Soulds
  • ICO & Shadow of the colossus
  • Malicious

PsVita

  • Uncharted: Golden Abyss
  • Gravity Rush
  • Sine Mora
  • Ninja Gaiden
  • Unit 13

Thanks for reading and be sure to check my favorite for August soon.

Battlefield 3: Where have i been?

I'm sure everyone knows what Battlefield actually is. If you dont, its a first person shooter developed by EA Digital Illusions CE and published by Electronic Arts. It is also the 11th installment of the franchise and was release in 2011.

Now being a 'fan boy' of the Call of Duty franchise ive never really bothered getting into Battlefield and never really gave it a chance. This choice in life is by far my most regretful decision of my past 2 years of gaming. Within the release date of Battlefied 3 (2011-present) i have purchased 3 Call of duty games, as each year they have a new installment, so if we take an average of £40 a game ive spent £120 on Call of Duty alone. Battlefield on the other hand did not use this approach and have only released the one game within that time scale, really because it stands the test of time and there is no need for another installment as dedicated fans and new players like myself are still playing all around the world. This means all this time i could have made one purchase in first person shooters for the past 2 years.

With the Call of duty series i was beginning to buy them each year just hoping it would be as good as the likes of mordern warefare 2 or even world at war, where i spent countless days playing over the summer. But each installment just wore down and that hope was dying off. In recent times of the newest installments ive just not been having fun playing them and find most frustrating and at times tedious. At this point after purchasing Black op 2 on release i felt perhaps i have outgrown games of such a caliber. I felt that maybe first person shooters with online multiplayer just wasnt for me anymore ... until a few days ago.

" it is everything you want from a mulitplayer first person shooter and more."

A few days ago i purchased Battlefield 3 for a whopping £8. I thought i may as well give it go and maybe i can consider it for the next installment coming for Next Gen consoles and it is a refreshing delight. Even in being 2 years old it is everything you want from a multiplayer first person shooter and more. The maps are fun and creative and very spread out almost open world like. The game modes although few of them are just what you need for diversity in gameplay and tactics. It feels like a game you dont just run about crazy in. There is some strategy needed to get the objectives and everything about it is just a well layed out refreshing change from the call of duty franchise.

" ... such a tense affair that you will be loving every second of."

What also makes this game more fun is the mass destruction and chaos within the games. No other game can you be hiding behind a wall from a tank and the wall explodes and crumbles before your eyes leaving you fully exposed. No other game will you be sitting on a rock camping waiting for the enemy and they fly over head in a helicopter and maul you and everything that surrounds you. Trees fall, objects explode, cover is blown to pieces and it creates such a tense affair that you will be loving every second of.

Ive only played the game for a few hours and even when i get my assed handed to me its just such a fun experience and it blows my thoughts of call of duty out of the water. If you, like me, are a call of duty 'fan boy' diverse youself and indulge in the temptation of Battlefield 3. I'm living proof you wont regret it.

The Walking Dead Episode 1 / Part 4

"A New Day: The Motel"

We arrive with Carly and quickly find Glenn with ease. He informs us that he has heard a woman crying in a locked room and he wants to save her. We cant leave anyone behind and decide to attempt to save her but it wont be an easy task. There are a number of walkers scattered throughout the parking lot of the garage. Two upstairs covering the door where our damsel in distress is, one lying on a car, another distracted by eating a dead body, one behind a caravan and finally one more next to an Axe. We sit tightly behind a brick wall and consider our options.

We pick up a pillow near the wall incase it might be useful for god knows what. We move along the wall and next to a truck near the walker lying on the car. We run over to the walker with Carly, swiftly put the pillow over its face and one silent gun shot through the pillow kills the walker. One down. We open up the car that the walker was lying on, picking up a spark plug and pulling down the hand brake, we push the car toward the walker next to the Axe and the car crushes it against the wall and trapping it in the process. Two down. We move back to the truck noticing a screwdriver inside on the passenger seat. We use the spark plug to smash the window with little noise and take the screwdriver. We run back to the start against the wall near the walker which is still intently eating at the corpse.  We run as fast as we can before it notices us and smash the screwdriver to the back of the head of the walker. Three down. We run passed and next to the caravan. We whistle to distract the walker at the other side of the caravan to come closer to us and one blow to the body with the screwdriver and another deadly blow to the head. 4 down. We move back up to the walker trapped by the car finishing him off with the screwdriver so we can take the axe. We silently move upstairs and with ease take out the two walkers blocking the door with the axe two clean blows to bring them down.

We shout to the woman locked inside and its clear she doesnt want to be saved. We take the matter into our own hands and burst the door down. She comes out covered in blood. Shes been bitten. She is aggressive from the outset wanting to use Carly's gun to kill herself but we wont let it happen. She jumps at Carly trying to take the gun and the struggle collapses the balcony and we crash to the ground. The gun breaks loose and the woman gets the gun and pulls the trigger. This leads to many walkers surrounding us, so we rush to one of the cars and make our way back to town before its too late.

We return to the town and into the shop and not much has changed with Larry is still hanging on. We have to get those keys to open the door and fast. We speak to Doug who lets us outside behind the gate. Its a tragic scene with walkers everywhere. But we are in, unfortunate, luck as we see our younger brother sadly as a walker trapped under a pole and we know he will have the keys. We use a remote we found earlier in the shop and turn the TV's on across the street to distract the walkers, a few take notice but not enough to get to the keys. We bust open the gate to reach a nearby lying brick. We launch the brick at the TV store smashing the windows the light and noise attract enough walkers for us to quickly make our ways to the keys.

Its a tough encounter as our brother tries to attack us. We have a quick heart felt moment to say our good byes till we reluctantly have to plunge the axe into his skull. We get the keys and run as fast as we can back to the shop as the walkers begin to take notice of our arrival.

As we get into the shop and open up the pharmacy to get Larry's medication the alarm is set off which turns the group into a state of panic. Loads of walkers begin to take notice of the shop and are crowding round to push there way through and into the store. We try and help Doug and Carly to keep the door shut but its too much, walkers are getting in through other sides of the shop. Carly leaves to try and fend some off as does Doug. Clementine passes us our dads walking stick that we put through the door to stop them getting through and jamming the door shut.

"NOOOO"

Doug standing by a window smashes and walkers grab him from behind.

"AAAAH"

Carly at the other side out of bullets is grabbed at her ankle by a walker and cant reach for her ammunition.

Its Decision time. Its either Doug or Carly. Who do we save.

With hardly any time to think we save the person who we owe most to. Carly. We run and hand her the ammo which she loads and shoots the walker at her feet and another walker that was close by. We turn to see Doug pulled through the window and mauled by the walkers. Kenny comes through shouting for us to hurry. We run and Clementine is taken down by another walker. We rapidly kick the walker down to free Clementine and run for the door to leave.

"I dont think so"

Larry blocking the door way smashes a fist down on us knocking us to the ground. Once again groggy on the ground we see Kenny burst through and slam the Axe down by our side right on top of a walkers head.

"No way will i see someone else taken by another walker, especially not a friend like you."

Our loyalty to Kenny pays off as he saves us by the skin of our teeth.

We escape and make our way back to the Motel. The group is scattered and still in shock from what has happened. Glenn lets us know hes making his way to Atlanta to try and find his friends. We know its something he has to do and we let him on his way. We pass through the group and comfort one another. We are then confronted by Larry who informs us that he knows all about what we've done and he knows we are a convicted felon and that we need to stay away from his daughter ... or else.

The group decide to stay at the motel as it has some water and we can use the cars to barricade the entrances. We all think everything will be OK hopeing we can hold out here till the military find survivors. Kennys states he has had worst places to live and as long as we have light from the motel sign we can be OK here as we have the advantage of seeing whats what in the dark. And as the words confidently come out his mouth ... Darkness.

To be Continued Next week on the Next episode of The Walking Dead "Starved for Help"

Thanks very much for reading and i hope you enjoyed the First Episode. And i would like to share the first episode statistic with whoever has read these to see how we compare to others who have played the game.

Honesty: Lied to Hershel? Myself and 37% lied to Hershel meaning a large amount of people told the truth 63% to be precise.

Who would you save?: Duck or Shaun? Myself and 49% of people save Duck meaning 51% save Shaun. How could you let a child die? You heartless people.

Loyalty:  Side with Kenny? Myself and 48% of players defended Kenny. Again more so doing the opposite with 52% not defending Kenny.

Mercy: Gave Irene the gun? Myself and 55% of players refused the gun. Meaning 45% were happy to give her the gun and get it over with asap.

Who would you save?: Doug or Carly? Myself and a whopping 76% of players chose to save Carly. Poor Doug.

The Walking Dead Episode 1 / Part 3

"A New Day: The Town"

We arrive at the town with no petrol left in the truck. We depart and move into the town hesitant from the destructive scenes before us. We are quickly met by a herd of walking dead and are immediately surrounded. Duck is grasped and taken down. It doesnt look good,Then BLAM! One clean shot is fired through the head of the walker that was toppled on Duck. A woman to our rescue shoots off another two and another man shouts us to enter a local shop getting us to safety just in time before we're surrounded by more of the dead.

We enter to a very hostile environment with a number of people displeased that theyve opened the gates and let us in not knowing who we are. We reassure them that we have children and there is no need for this hostility. One of the older men is furious with the decision and is lashing out at Duck. He thinks he has been bitten and is adamant that we should kill him. We show our loyalty to Kenny by protecting him and his Son. We get aggressive implying we will kick this old mans ass if he doesnt keep his mouth shut. Conversation is aggressive and emotions are high. We tell Kenny to kick his ass and knock him out. Kenny takes a big swiping arm and lands a sweet hit on the jaw of the older man. He retaliates with a big hook to Kennys face knocking him to the ground with ease.

"AAAAAAH" Clementine, who at this point has been trying to go to the bathroom, is attacked by a walker that was locked in there. We quickly rush to her aid falling in the process, probably due to the fact of our still injured leg. Groggy, we get up as fast as we can and push the walker off Clementine before she is hurt. We crash into a shelf and are toe to toe with one of the walkers. We rapidly try and push the walker off but it is a massive struggle. BOOM. The head of the walker explodes before our eyes. We turn and the same woman who saved us outside and done it again, just in time.

The oldman still furious and shouting falls to the ground. His Daughter comforts him and knows whats wrong. He needs his pills and has a heart problem. We offer to help and look for the medication to ease his pain. This point we are introduced to oldman as Larry his daughter Lilly. They are accompanied by a small fat man Doug and the woman who has saved us on 2 occasions Carly. We are also met by Glen who tells us that he is going to go to a motel  to get gas so we can leave this dreaded town. We pass him a walkie talkie and tell him to get in touch if need be and let him on his way.

We walk around the shop and have to find a way behind the shutters to get to Larry's medication. We wander picking up various supplies of energy bars and speak to each person to try and get to know them a little better. But enough procrastinating and we head for the door to search for a way to get the medication.

More information is clear that the shop owners that are not here are your family. We find a smashed photo of  our self, our mum, dad and brother. Carly enters the room unexpectedly and confronts us. She knows who we are and what we've done. She informs us that we are Lee Everit and that we killed the senit for sleeping with our wife. We keep quiet and inform her we want no trouble and there isnt any need to tell the others. She accepts comforting us that she wont tell anyone and lets us on with our task. We move a desk out the way of the door that leads to the pharmacy behind the shutter, but unfortunately the key for the door is locked. Unsuccessful so far we find out that Glen is stuck at the motel when he was trying to get supplies for the group. We get Carly and make our way to save him and bring him back putting the medication to one side hoping Larry can hold out a bit longer. Will he survive for when we get back?

The Walking Dead Episode 1 / Part 2

"A New Day Part 2: The Farm"

We leave the house and see two men trying to push a car out of the hectic abandoned road. We approach and are mistaken for the walking dead. We quickly assure them we are OK and do not intend to harm them and are just looking for some help. When questioned by one of the men our relation to Clementine we advise we are a neighbor he takes notice of this, as does Clementine. We greet and exchange names of the two men, Shaun and Ched. Conversation is short as we have to rush to get the car out of the road to get out of the town as the walkers quickly  approach. We quickly help and push the car out of the way and make our way for the truck that we intend to use to escape. A very close call as we jump into the car with Ched leaping into the back as walkers just miss our grasp.

This leads us into the night as we journey with the two men to a nearby farm. We are greeted by Shaun's Father, Hershal Greene the owner of the farm and we are interrogated from the outset of our whereabouts and our relations with Clementine. We choose again to explains we are a neighbor to Clementine which she agrees and tells him She is aware of who we are. Hershal kindly tells us we can stay the night and we will need to be on our way from there. He helps fix our injured leg still with a number of curious questions of our whereabouts and what our business is. We feel we have to lie as first impressions are everything and we dont want to explain that we were in a cop car on our way to jail. We tell him we were leaving Atlanta but mistake in saying we were with no one, Hershal is weary of our presence and it is very noticeable that he does not believe what we have said. Either way he lets us on our way to rest in the barn. One restless sleep later, with nightmares and screams which can be assumed to be of Lee's Wife, we are awakened by Kenny.

Kenny introduces us to his enthusiastic son Ken JR other known as Duck and his Wife Katjaa. We part with Clementine and are asked by Shaun to help with fixing the fence round the farm to protect it from walkers. We speak with Kenny first and learn he has a boat and offer a helping hand with the truck he intends to use to leave the farm with his family. He kindly declines and leaves us to help with the fixing of the fence. We meet up with Duck and Shaun at the back of the farm. Shaun is hard at work with Duck having fun on the tractor. Shaun expresses his opinion on what hes seen so far in the world as is turns for the worst. He tells us he has had to see a kid be shot not knowing if it was a walker or if he was just asking for help. We discuss family encounters keeping most information minimum as it stands. We cut the pieces of wood as Shaun's asks us to do so and leave. Shaun thanks us for the help and lets us know he is glad he didnt leave us behind.

We walk to the barn to speak to Hershel. He grinds us for the lies we told him the night before but doesnt make too much of it and gives us some advise for the future that we will have to trust a strangers judgement and that we will have to make hard decisions to stay alive.

"EUGHHHH"

Screams from behind the house are loud and halt the conversation with the rumbling sound of the tracker within the background. We run quickly to the back of the house where Shaun is lying trapped under the tractor with walkers inches away trying to break the fence. Duck is sitting upon the tractor and is grasped and pulled down by a walker. A split decision must be made. Its either to save Shaun or Duck. With no time for hesitation we run towards Duck and help the child first. We punch the walker twice till it loosens his grip on Duck and he is broken free. Meanwhile Shaun is cluttered under two walkers and is mauled by the walkers, Hershal shoots the walkers that surround him but it is much too late.

Hershal Screams and threatens everyone at the farm to get out and leave him be. Kenny offers us a lift into town which will help us progress in our journey. It is clear that Hershal no longer wants us at the farm with the death of his son. We accept and progress into the town. What other threats will lie in the town and will there be a safe place to lay low for us to survive?

The Waling Dead Episode 1 / Part1

Episode 1: A New Day

The story begins in the back of a Police Car with not too much information on why we're here. Being Questioned by the police officer we play it cool and express our innocence and humour him with pleasantries.

"WATCH OUT"

The cop not paying attention crashes into some ghoul on the road, the car spiraling out of control swerves off the road , tumbles and crashes down the hill. Groggy after the crash we hear screams and wake up not in the best condition with a damaged leg and the cuffs still tightly round our wrist. We see the cop lying, presumably dead, with blood all around his body. We look around the car and smash the side window to exit. We maneuver round the car, passed the shotgun and picking up the loose ammo just in case. Unfortunately our attempt to  pick up the shotgun is unsuccessful with the cuffs still at our demise. We approach the body of the cop and reach for the keys in his pocket. As we open the cuffs the cop awakens and jumps towards us. Startled we fall to the ground and back away from the cop not having a clue what is going on. We back into the police car picking up the shotgun as survival instinct and with no time to think or hesitate ... BOOM. One shot blowing the head right off the cop as he crashes to the floor.

Sitting in shock we see a young girl in the distance and shout for help hoping she will in some way aid the situation. Noises approach behind us and slow dead like figures begin to emerge from the bushes. They look worn down and most of them are crippled and ripped apart with limps hanging from there sockets. Not knowing what these things are and where to go we head for the first house jumping over the fence and into a strangers garden. Luckily gun shots are fired far in the distance which distracts these horrible beings. We approach the house, knock and hesitantly enter. Blood is smeared on the kitchen floor and it seems no one has been in the house for a while with all supplies but a walkie talkie left in the cupboards and drawers. 3 Messages have been left for a babysitter and a young girl called Clementine on the answer machine with each message being darker and darker giving us a bigger picture of the mayhem outside. But still no real details in what is going on.

The walkie talkie begins to crackle and Clementine being on the other side begins to talk. We find out she is an 8 year old girl and she has been hiding in the tree house as her babysitter was attacked and her parents out of town on a trip. We ask if she is safe and notice her in the tree house from the kitchen window. Suddenly she screams as we are attacked by a women who does no seem at all right we rapidly press X to push her off. We run, slip and fall on the pool of blood on the kitchen floor hitting our head of the cabinet. Our eye sight hindered we struggle to direct a boot to the womans face as it grabs at us. We crawl to the back door where Clementine hands us a hammer. One strike to the head collapses the dead like woman and 3 more blows to the head to make sure she wont get up. A pleasant way for a first impression to Clementine. We comfort her and our first big decision of the game is made we advise Clementine we will move quick before it is dark taking the safety of daylight and avoiding the darkness at all costs. Will this tactic be a wise choice?

What do you want to see?

Ive only been doing this for 2 months really now and trying to do as much as i can with reviews etc but id like to hear some feedback from the little people that read this blog.

I will be putting up a poll and i want you to decide which posts youd like to see. The content would be between the following;

The Last of Us Online -  Ive played a few games of this and its something that im really getting into. There are two game types of Survivor and Supply Raid. The basis of mulitplayer is to create a clan each game you get food and supplies to increase the number of people in your camp to avoid poeple getting sick or hungry and there are also a number of challenge to do within the games 12 week period. Survivor has no respawns and its basicallly 4 on 4 death match and to kill every enemy with a number of round. Supply raid is to collect as much food and supplies to try and grow your clan day by day. So the content il being will be how i play and perform and anything exciting that goes on really.

Fifa Pro Clubs -  I play this a lot and have a team with another one of my friends. This content will have the ups and downs and we try and win cup matches and progress in our leagues to get to the division one. This can contain trolling and screamers and i will try and get as much exciting stuff in as i can. And if possible low quality video of saved goals.

The Walking Dead: A Telltale Game Series -  This is a beloved game and has had heaps and heaps of praise and its something ive really wanted to get into as ive only played the first episode. It will basically be a walkthrough of each episode and what happens in each but it is definitely something il be getting and it is full of story and twists with a number of choices you can make as a character so it may be something you're interested in.

Other?  Any suggestions from your wonderful self would be appreciated if there anything youd like to see please let me know in the comments and it can be anything for the Ps3 as that is the only console i play. But yeah any suggestions will be considered as well.

As i said i have only been doing this for 2 months and im reasonably happy with the views ive had on the blog counting just over a thousand. So if you do read these please share and post your thoughts on reviews and anything else i do it is as always appreciated.

The Last of Us Review

The day has finally come, the chance for us all to play 'The Last of Us' and its something you definitely do not want to miss.

The Last of us really is something special, with a story that is compelling and beautiful with an amazing supporting cast that will give you an experience you wont forget.  It is nothing short of brilliant and it will have you engaged from the first second and throughout expressing a number of emotions in the process. The story has twists and turns that you will never expect leaving you astonished, shocked and near in tears with each piece of story tugging at your heart strings. You can feel every emotion of every turn; hatred, joy, sadness and you can really sense the feeling of fear that the characters have within this world. The amount of shocking events that happen in the game will leave your jaw firmly placed on the ground. Then there's the connection between Joel and Ellie which is heart felt to say the least. Each moment these characters converse together and everything they go through will take your breath away, leaving you anxious and nervous for their outcome.

"  ... Immediatly make you feel connected to Joel."

Now, this is something that goes missing within games, a real connection for the characters and it is in this aspect that 'The Last of Us' excels. From the outset you are put into a crazy world that will immediately make you feel connected to Joel and you will understand and correspond with his actions throughout the game. You know exactly why he is so connected to Ellie and you feel his emotions of pain and sorrow, as you start to get involved in Joels world. You begin to feel the same connection that Joel has for Ellie and this is magnificently presented throughout the whole of the game. A game that creates a sense of protection and caring for the characters that isn't usually seen in today's industry. However it is not just Joel's story it is also Ellie's story. Ellie is the key fact to the emotion of the story in the sense that everything she does creates a new emotion in Joel and the full experience really will have you torn up from start to finish.

The story isnt the only gem within the game, throughout you will encounter 4 types of enemies; the living, the infected, clickers and bloaters. The way in which you encounter these enemies is fantastic and you have to adapt your fighting styles to beat each enemy. It is very well designed how you deal with each enemy and you will have to adapt accordingly,  as it can go from high intensity gun fights to immediate stealth within just a few seconds. As bullets throughout are scarce it is the stealth that is key in creating a brilliant and tense affair. You will have to sneak by enemies and clickers in order to survive and this adds great tension every time. It again relates back to the connection of characters and you genuinely feel the fear that these characters have of trying not being found. The fighting can also be very satisfying as you punch you way through enemies with Joel interacting with the world flawlessly smashing enemies heads with the surroundings and it looks gruesomely slick.

" ... you will be in awe from the scenes that you encounter."

These surroundings are portrayed in a world that is astonishing and you will be in awe from the scenes that  you encounter. As you play through the apocalyptic world you are constantly doing something that engages your interest even when walking there can be explosion or screams from infected or living. The interactions in the game gets you involved so much within every aspect. As you wander, Tess and Ellie communicate constantly and its always interesting to hear what they say, never being  too much to get on your nerves, it is subtle but everything they say keeps you engaged and involved throughout the whole campaign. As stated the interactions are sublime in the game and how Joel interacts with the world that surrounds you is realism at its best. If you want to use a medikit you have to go into your bag take it out and wrap it round yourself to heal and this adds intensity within the game as you have to craft a number of things to use to your advantage and for your survival. You can also create upgrades to your weapons, although this aspect seemed lost with myself as when upgrading guns it didn't seem to make much difference with combat as i expected.

As the surroundings are so wonderful you cant help but explore them and this is exactly what Naughty Dog intended for us to do. There are a number of places and rooms you can roam when on a mission and this helps you find parts, weapons, food and all supplies you need to survive but that's not all. As you open up drawers and cupboards looking for that rag to create a petrol bomb you can come across some outstanding things such as letters of other survivors. This aspect really is something special as they are notes and letters from other survivors of their struggles and traumatizing events. Every piece you find you will stop to make the time to read it and find out something amount a character you don't even know and you feel that pain, it really is something special and fits perfectly with this apocalyptic world.

As you explore and run through the world you will enjoy every second of it. There is nothing you wont love about The Last of Us. It has a gripping story, brilliant game mechanics and high intense moments throughout that will have you on the edge of your seat. I honestly can not fault the game. This is a game that you do not want to miss and is a must buy for any Ps3 owners. So if you are a Ps3 owner and don't have the game, why are you still reading this? Go get it.

E3: Microsoft Vs Sony

Now as E3 has finished the conversation between the console war is hotter than ever, but what did each company display at there conferences and what has us excited for each console and what aspects of the consoles make us want to buy them. Here i will  breakdown how each conference differed and some good selling points.

E3 kicked off with microsoft. Now a lot of people may have wanted some answered to various aspects of restrictions and games, enough of the tv aspect and show us games. And i think Xbox fans wouldn't have been disappointed in what they were presented with.

Firstly they came out to tell us though that there is a new xbox 360 model coming out and that Xbox live gold members will be getting 2 free games every month, similar to what Playstation do with some games for there plus members.

They then went on to discuss the Xbox one, stating that they will not be using Microsoft points but in standard currency for the likes of DLC's. They also discussed how you interact with the console and how you can view other players progress in real time. Also the console records some of your gameplay and also upload Live what your playing to Twitch tv which is an awesome feature for people who love to show off there gaming skills.

Games, this is where Microsoft surprisingly delivered showcasing a number of exclusive games. Now i wont go through them all in detail but i have produced a list of the games they showed.

  • New Halo
  • Titan Fall
  • Ryse: son of rome
  • sunset overdrive
  • killer instinct
  • Forza
  • Quantam Break
  • D4
  • Crimson Dragon
  • Project Spark
Microsoft showed some demos and trailers for these exclusive also presenting some exclusive contents for the mulitplatform games such as Battlefield 4. Now there is quite a number of exclusives for Xbox one and will have Xbox fans buzzing as a new halo has been announced and beautifully creative games like project spark being announced will sure to excite gamers everywhere. The console will be available in November and is priced at £429.

Moving on to the Sony conference. First off the went on to showcase what the PsVita has to offer in its 2nd year of the market. It went on t discuss how its for indie developers and that 85 games this year will be presented and it discussed that remote play with the ps4 will i guess work? but that function will only show when the console is out. The games that were presented for the vita were the likes of Killzone, tearaway, god of war trilogy, Batman and games of flower and dead nation coming as well. Also a new bundle will be available with the first season of Telltales The walking dead game with the Vita console.

What was good about the sony conference was that they showed a lot of gameplay. And for the Ps3 it was no different essentially showing off the final games that will come this year. The gameplay that was shown was more of The last of us, the pupateer, Rain, Beyond two souls and Gran Turismo. It also went to show the multi platform games of Batman and GTA 5 showing off some exclusive content with each game and a new bundle for the GTA5.

Finally for what everyone was there for to see the Playstation 4. However they started off pritty slow. They discussed a number of times how they focus on fans and the content they produce is tailored for gamers then they went on to discuss music and video features. They told us about an exclusive program plan and movies will be available for rental. A number of features and apps that Xbox one presented in there reveal with the likes of netflix and flixter apps. A start that was not too much exciting. Only exicting part was they finally showed off the console which really looks very similar to the xbox one. As i saw someone state on twitter its xbox one in italics which is bang on.

They finally went on to the games and exclusive PS will have. Again i wont discuss them all but have produced a list of what they showed off. Making note each game showed actual gameplay.

  • Killzone Shadow fall
  • Infamous second son
  • The Order 1886
  • Drive Club
  • Knack
  • Dark Sorcerer
  • Final Fantasy
  • Kingdom of hearts
A few short of what Xbox presented at their conference and with 4 games from that line up already being shown some may be slightly dissapointed. However it was very nice to see atual gameplay of the games that definetly got gamers excited. They also went on to discuss some exclusive content to multi platforms with the like of watchdogs.

They again went on to discuss how there about the gamers and a console for developers and they got out a number of indie studios that are making there games exclusive to Ps4 which is nice for the people who live indie developed games. They also showed us a remake of Abes oddesy and any playstation fan will be drooling at this. Well i know i was, but i may just have been drooling as it was approaching 4 in the morning but still its exciting nonetheless.

They also presented gameplay of destiny but i will go in that more detail at a later date. All you need to know is it was awesome.

Finally they got down to some technical stuff but really it was as slow and agonizing dig at Microsoft to be honest. Ps4 will be supporting used games which is delightful news and what it should be in  essence when you buy a game you have all rights to do whatever you want with the game, sell it, trade it and share it with friends. No online connection is needed and you can play your games as you like online or offline with no checks for connection hinting at what microsoft have done, stating they wont be doing the same. This aspect of the console could differ on what people get. As casual gamers who love the games that come out for both consoles may side with the ps4 as when they buy the game they can do what they want with it really.
The Price of the Ps4 will be £349 but no announcement of the release date was made.

Still the feud between the consoles is strong and it will go on for years to come but it really does come down to preference in the end. Which exlcusive games will you enjoy more will persuade the gamers and really some die hard fans of microsoft and sony just wont change. Regardless of the console war Each console showcased the Next Gen consoles brilliantly really showing off what they have to offer. The Next Gen consoles are with us and they surely did not disappoint.

Which Consoles is for you?

Thanks for reading and be sure to check later where i will discuss the games im most excited for, exclusively and mulitplatform

FIFA 14 Gameplay and new Features

So with Fifa 14 due to come out this year and for it to be presented at E3 coming out for both Current Gen and Next Gen consoles fans are certain to love the game but will it be different from the previous installments? and will it be worthy of the Next Gen consoles?

EA have came out and presented the new features for Fifa 14 and how it will better the previous installments really showing its realism and how it plays, making it more realistic to the beautiful game. They have announced with there trailer 5 new big changes in the way we play Fifa.

These features include:

Precision Movement: As Ea have stated 'a feature that recreates the dynamic movement of real world players' basically this means that players will have to fully understand how the players touch the ball and you will definitely need to change the way you play taking control of the momentum of players. Weather this feature will fully change the experience or if it will be a minor tweak im not sure but it seems to be a nice step forward in how the players move in the current game. Its stated with this every step counts, but how much does it count and how will it fully change the experience is still unknown.

Pure Shot: This feature seems that players will now have to consider how they take the shot and that they  cant just shoot from any position and any movement. The player has to take into consideration where the players stands and where the ball is to hit an effective shot. This is to give the gamer a more satisfying need for scoring and feel more proud that they've scored a strike that you could see on match of the day.

Real Ball Physics: Weather or not this will make the actual game play better im not sure. It seems that this feature is really just to show off a sense of realism and that the game will look more realistic with the ball moving in the air, be it swerve or dipping into the corner of the goals.

Protect the ball: This is a feature id really like to see at E3 and show off how effective this is in the game. As current Fifa installments speed is really essential when looking for victory and it really is hard to actually control pace and to control the game. So this is a feature that needs more than just a tweak and it has to be very effective so you can play both slow paced and fast paced games instead of always just holding down that sprint button.

Team Mate Intelligence: Last year they gave us the smarter and more intelligent attacking runs, this time Fifa looks to create a more intelligence defensive line as well as tweaking attacking opportunities. Again weather this will be a small tweak or a fully developed feature that will create a better experience its still not clear.

Fifa 14 is sure to be a hit regardless if Ea have re-invented the way we play the game and if they have changed the experience that much. Will it just be Fifa 13 sugar coated with small tweaks or will they create a better and more enjoyable experience, its still unclear.

There is also the case if its worthy of the Next gen consoles. It will be released for both generation consoles but will there be much purpose waiting to get it for ps4 if there isnt much difference in the way its played from the current consoles. Hopefully we will be presented with some answers to all the questions that die hard fifa fans want to know at E3 but untill then well just have to wait.

Here is the trailer as well if youd like to have a watch.

'The Last of Us' First Impressions Demo

As it is the most excited ive been for a game in a while i had to to get my hands on 'The Last of Us' Demo to experience what its going to be like and get some first impressions about the game.

The demo starts you off with Joel, Ellie and Tess as you venture into the apocalyptic world that naughty dog create which is terrifyingly brilliant . The objective is basically to explore a run down office block for supplies and from the outset it really does capture the pure emotion of fear. Joel is alarmed from the outset which displays the horror the characters have for their own survival in the world. As you explore the half destroyed building you have to sneak and fight the infected to get the supplies you desire and the game really displays the intensity throughout that will have you on the edge of your seat.  Even through the demo you will be presented with fear, intensity, craftiness and scenes that will have jumping from your seat.

As expected the gameplay is similar to uncharted but not to the extent that you can climb massive scale buildings or anything like that its more of the combat side of things that is quite similar but not too similar that it just seems like a copy of uncharted. The combat of the game is very fun, you have little bullets to use that adds a sense of fear which on the wider scale of the actual game im sure will work fantastic with the theme of the game. You can also fight by punching or from a weapon you can find lying about and using this type of combat is very satisfying. As you punch your way through the infect Joel interacts with the surroundings with ease as you punch a few times then smash the infected head into a wall and it looks gruesomely slick. In the demo there are two types of infected you have the first stage that are the beginners of the infection that run at you at a fair pace and the latter stage that are called clickers. These type of infected cannot see and only notice you from their hearing, as described in the game like bats. You can lure these infected by throwing bricks and bottles and sneak past these enemies which is very intense.

A nice touch to the game which creates a sense of realism within the world is how Joel interacts with objects. For instance with a medical kit you can find supplies to actually create the kit and as you do Joel will  crouch down open his bag and start making it.
Also when using a medical kit he will get the bandages out and slowly wrap them round his arms to heal himself. This mean within the game you will have to find good areas where you can do such things which im sure will add even more intensity when being attacked by the infected and other enemies.

So as i said i couldn't resist in downloading the demo and getting an impression of what the game is going to be like. And it was a BIG mistake as it has tortured me in being more pumped for the game and i cannot wait for the 14th of June even more now and i will hate myself for the days to come as i sit in anticipation for its release.

Play the short demo at your own risk.
