The Best Games of E3

So with the sting of E3 still in all our minds and the anticipation of all the great games that are coming our way for the Next Gen Consoles us gamers are at a high buzz. What games are we most excited for and were we impressed from what we saw? Well these are a few of my favorite games of E3 sections from Xbox One, Ps4 and Multiplatform.

Xbox One

Now i thought what we were shown at E3 was brilliant. A world in which you create and can change as the game plays. From what was seen at E3 they created a town square and a number of characters were created and there was an awesome fight against goblins. But as you play you can control the world and create things to your advantage and it really did look like a very creative and fantastic game.

It was only a small taste but they have said you can create massive environments creating a number of characters with personalities and enemies to fight so there is a number of possibilities on how you can play this game, exclusively for Xbox One.

Ps4

Being a fan of the infamous series it was fantastic to finally see some gameplay in action for the new installment. This Infamous is an open world game and sees you take control of the character Delsin Rowe who has been described as a much different character from previous Cole Macgrath. He has similar power abilities however this time with smoke and its very interesting to see how it will fully work in the game.

Rowe differs greatly form Macgrath as he takes the role of the hero with confidence and has amoe arrogant side than the previous character. Not much has been told about the story but what we saw from E3 will have the fans ecstatic for the release, exclusive to Ps4.

Multiplatform

There were two games that have got us talking from E3 and the two of my favorites, as i could not just pick one included:

YES. FINALLY. GAMEPLAY. At E3 we were finally presented with some gameplay of how Destiny will look and it looked awesome. Slick graphics and a nice open world you can explore fully online with friends and others. The Demo we received was nice and really showed off what we can expect from the game and it has everyone buzzing and can potentially be one of the best games if it all works.

Heres a wee screen shot of the game as the two players went in to fight a tank like robot and everything that happened just looked beautiful. Also from the gameplay it was clear that it  took a big approach and i think will be a big part of the game and that thing is  loot. After they defeated the enemies they received a bunch of loot from weapons and some sort of currency probably that can be used in the game. Loot seems to be a big thing with games as people love it and it gives them a sense of purpose in the game. But what we seen from the game was brilliant.

Moving on to my favorite game of E3 and it came as a surprise to everyone and was kept very well under the radar for the event.

Now i dont think anyone saw this little gem coming and thats exactly what it was, an absolute gem. An online open world game in a post apocalyptic setting which just looked amazing. We saw at E3 a few players roaming the world and were attack by assumingly other online players at a run down building site.

This is a big game and we dont know too much about it, but it takes the theme of previous tom clancy games such as ghost recon which i personally love and enters in a beautifully run down and crumbling world. Hopefully we will see more to come with the next few months but this is a game that personally i will anticipate until its release.

E3: Microsoft Vs Sony

Now as E3 has finished the conversation between the console war is hotter than ever, but what did each company display at there conferences and what has us excited for each console and what aspects of the consoles make us want to buy them. Here i will  breakdown how each conference differed and some good selling points.

E3 kicked off with microsoft. Now a lot of people may have wanted some answered to various aspects of restrictions and games, enough of the tv aspect and show us games. And i think Xbox fans wouldn't have been disappointed in what they were presented with.

Firstly they came out to tell us though that there is a new xbox 360 model coming out and that Xbox live gold members will be getting 2 free games every month, similar to what Playstation do with some games for there plus members.

They then went on to discuss the Xbox one, stating that they will not be using Microsoft points but in standard currency for the likes of DLC's. They also discussed how you interact with the console and how you can view other players progress in real time. Also the console records some of your gameplay and also upload Live what your playing to Twitch tv which is an awesome feature for people who love to show off there gaming skills.

Games, this is where Microsoft surprisingly delivered showcasing a number of exclusive games. Now i wont go through them all in detail but i have produced a list of the games they showed.

  • New Halo
  • Titan Fall
  • Ryse: son of rome
  • sunset overdrive
  • killer instinct
  • Forza
  • Quantam Break
  • D4
  • Crimson Dragon
  • Project Spark
Microsoft showed some demos and trailers for these exclusive also presenting some exclusive contents for the mulitplatform games such as Battlefield 4. Now there is quite a number of exclusives for Xbox one and will have Xbox fans buzzing as a new halo has been announced and beautifully creative games like project spark being announced will sure to excite gamers everywhere. The console will be available in November and is priced at £429.

Moving on to the Sony conference. First off the went on to showcase what the PsVita has to offer in its 2nd year of the market. It went on t discuss how its for indie developers and that 85 games this year will be presented and it discussed that remote play with the ps4 will i guess work? but that function will only show when the console is out. The games that were presented for the vita were the likes of Killzone, tearaway, god of war trilogy, Batman and games of flower and dead nation coming as well. Also a new bundle will be available with the first season of Telltales The walking dead game with the Vita console.

What was good about the sony conference was that they showed a lot of gameplay. And for the Ps3 it was no different essentially showing off the final games that will come this year. The gameplay that was shown was more of The last of us, the pupateer, Rain, Beyond two souls and Gran Turismo. It also went to show the multi platform games of Batman and GTA 5 showing off some exclusive content with each game and a new bundle for the GTA5.

Finally for what everyone was there for to see the Playstation 4. However they started off pritty slow. They discussed a number of times how they focus on fans and the content they produce is tailored for gamers then they went on to discuss music and video features. They told us about an exclusive program plan and movies will be available for rental. A number of features and apps that Xbox one presented in there reveal with the likes of netflix and flixter apps. A start that was not too much exciting. Only exicting part was they finally showed off the console which really looks very similar to the xbox one. As i saw someone state on twitter its xbox one in italics which is bang on.

They finally went on to the games and exclusive PS will have. Again i wont discuss them all but have produced a list of what they showed off. Making note each game showed actual gameplay.

  • Killzone Shadow fall
  • Infamous second son
  • The Order 1886
  • Drive Club
  • Knack
  • Dark Sorcerer
  • Final Fantasy
  • Kingdom of hearts
A few short of what Xbox presented at their conference and with 4 games from that line up already being shown some may be slightly dissapointed. However it was very nice to see atual gameplay of the games that definetly got gamers excited. They also went on to discuss some exclusive content to multi platforms with the like of watchdogs.

They again went on to discuss how there about the gamers and a console for developers and they got out a number of indie studios that are making there games exclusive to Ps4 which is nice for the people who live indie developed games. They also showed us a remake of Abes oddesy and any playstation fan will be drooling at this. Well i know i was, but i may just have been drooling as it was approaching 4 in the morning but still its exciting nonetheless.

They also presented gameplay of destiny but i will go in that more detail at a later date. All you need to know is it was awesome.

Finally they got down to some technical stuff but really it was as slow and agonizing dig at Microsoft to be honest. Ps4 will be supporting used games which is delightful news and what it should be in  essence when you buy a game you have all rights to do whatever you want with the game, sell it, trade it and share it with friends. No online connection is needed and you can play your games as you like online or offline with no checks for connection hinting at what microsoft have done, stating they wont be doing the same. This aspect of the console could differ on what people get. As casual gamers who love the games that come out for both consoles may side with the ps4 as when they buy the game they can do what they want with it really.
The Price of the Ps4 will be £349 but no announcement of the release date was made.

Still the feud between the consoles is strong and it will go on for years to come but it really does come down to preference in the end. Which exlcusive games will you enjoy more will persuade the gamers and really some die hard fans of microsoft and sony just wont change. Regardless of the console war Each console showcased the Next Gen consoles brilliantly really showing off what they have to offer. The Next Gen consoles are with us and they surely did not disappoint.

Which Consoles is for you?

Thanks for reading and be sure to check later where i will discuss the games im most excited for, exclusively and mulitplatform

FIFA 14 Gameplay and new Features

So with Fifa 14 due to come out this year and for it to be presented at E3 coming out for both Current Gen and Next Gen consoles fans are certain to love the game but will it be different from the previous installments? and will it be worthy of the Next Gen consoles?

EA have came out and presented the new features for Fifa 14 and how it will better the previous installments really showing its realism and how it plays, making it more realistic to the beautiful game. They have announced with there trailer 5 new big changes in the way we play Fifa.

These features include:

Precision Movement: As Ea have stated 'a feature that recreates the dynamic movement of real world players' basically this means that players will have to fully understand how the players touch the ball and you will definitely need to change the way you play taking control of the momentum of players. Weather this feature will fully change the experience or if it will be a minor tweak im not sure but it seems to be a nice step forward in how the players move in the current game. Its stated with this every step counts, but how much does it count and how will it fully change the experience is still unknown.

Pure Shot: This feature seems that players will now have to consider how they take the shot and that they  cant just shoot from any position and any movement. The player has to take into consideration where the players stands and where the ball is to hit an effective shot. This is to give the gamer a more satisfying need for scoring and feel more proud that they've scored a strike that you could see on match of the day.

Real Ball Physics: Weather or not this will make the actual game play better im not sure. It seems that this feature is really just to show off a sense of realism and that the game will look more realistic with the ball moving in the air, be it swerve or dipping into the corner of the goals.

Protect the ball: This is a feature id really like to see at E3 and show off how effective this is in the game. As current Fifa installments speed is really essential when looking for victory and it really is hard to actually control pace and to control the game. So this is a feature that needs more than just a tweak and it has to be very effective so you can play both slow paced and fast paced games instead of always just holding down that sprint button.

Team Mate Intelligence: Last year they gave us the smarter and more intelligent attacking runs, this time Fifa looks to create a more intelligence defensive line as well as tweaking attacking opportunities. Again weather this will be a small tweak or a fully developed feature that will create a better experience its still not clear.

Fifa 14 is sure to be a hit regardless if Ea have re-invented the way we play the game and if they have changed the experience that much. Will it just be Fifa 13 sugar coated with small tweaks or will they create a better and more enjoyable experience, its still unclear.

There is also the case if its worthy of the Next gen consoles. It will be released for both generation consoles but will there be much purpose waiting to get it for ps4 if there isnt much difference in the way its played from the current consoles. Hopefully we will be presented with some answers to all the questions that die hard fifa fans want to know at E3 but untill then well just have to wait.

Here is the trailer as well if youd like to have a watch.

E3: The Console War

The Next Generation Console War. Which will come out on top at E3?

Well its still hard to decide. From both reveals there have been mixed reviews on what came out on top. But lets take a step away from which is better. We're here to discuss what we want to see from our beloved consoles at E3.

As i have stated previously both companies took different approaches to there reveals. A recap Sony took an approach really to get developers out and talk about the games there making exclusive to Ps4. Where Xbox decided to speak about all the individual features that there console can provide.

So what do we want to see from each console?

PS4: Well a starting point for Sony would be to show the console. We've only seen so far what the controller will look like and blurry images of the console. Although its not the most important thing to be honest as we want to know everything the console can actually do. Sony displayed a number of exclusive games that had PlayStation fans in awe, but what we want to see is individual features that separate it from the competition as well. Perhaps they will go more into how you can share game play clips and perhaps they willo show the different features the touch pad on the controller can have. Maybe more games? who knows but Sony are sure to bring everything theyve got to blow us away.

Xbox One: Xbox showed a lot of nice features on there reveal and they showed the console. But thats it. What us gamers want to see at E3 is games. Will there be any exclusives? apparently there is a confirmed number of how many exclusives but we have no idea what they are. From the feedback they got from the reveal the fans have had enough of the features they can offer and they want to see games.

They want to know what makes this a better GAMING console. Will Microsoft deliver what the fans really want?

In my opinion exclusive content is essential in the console war. Its what will separate the consoles whether it be for gaming  or entertainment, Sony and Microsoft really need to decide what root they want to go down and what fans they want to enjoy there consoles. Exclusive features and games that are designed for one console will have to be compared to the other to really show which is better. Its not the Call of Duty, Watch Dogs and Fifa etc, those games will perhaps define the Next Gen consoles as a whole, but what we want is games and features that define the specific console and show what  they can bring to the gaming world and prove to us why they are better. So both Sony and Microsoft really have to bring everything they have.

E3, Regardless is sure to be a fantastic and thrilling event that we are all excited for. Will both consoles deliver at the event? Will one walk away victorious before the consoles are even out? There is only one thing we can do and that is sit tight and wait for E3.

E3: Games, Games, Games

So E3 is very very close with only days to go till the big event and with it brings the Next Generation of gaming. Its probably one of the most anticipated E3 events in a while. But what do we want to see at the event?

Of course its games, games and more games. Its what gets us gamers excited. With a number of games that have been confirmed for showing at E3 its sure to be a spectacular event that will have us drooling for more and there are a number of games that are getting us excited for both new and 'old' consoles.

What games are we excited for?

From the creators of Halo a game that really is under the radar. Now it is one of the most anticipated games of E3 but that because the developers have not showed much of the game. Its had teaser trailers and they've spoke about the experiences you may have in the game and what to expect. But what were excited about is how big the game is actually going to be and how we will interact with the massive span of world that Bungie are creating for us. As the developer stated in interviews Destiny really will speak for itself at E3.

Another installment of the Fifa franchise. Now we all now what Fifa is capable of but this fifa will be the first of the Next Generation and thats why were excited. Sure all fifa games are fun for the footballing fans but what we want to see is how this changes the experience we already know and love. The fans want to know how this will be better than fifa 13. Will this be the Fifa that changes the game for the better? or will it just be a few tweaks from the previous installment? E3 will be sure to show all the new features.

One of the most anticipated games for the PS3 this year and is really a sending off point of what the Ps3 can bring. I have previously spoke about the last of us and we've been shown loads of what the game is about and how it will play. So why is it at E3 4 days before release?  What were hoping for is the part of the last of us we've not seen yet, Multiplayer. Naughty dog have confirmed multiplayer will be integrated but we just don't know how yet. So naughty dog are sure to show how multiplayer will work and if it will be worth it. Such games with amazing long stories don't actually have good multiplayer and it comes across as just an add on. Will the last of us be different?

A prequel to the previous installments of Batman and has been confimred for showing at E3. Weve not been shown much in sense of gameplay and that's sure to be what will be presented at E3. Weve been given a CG trailer that's told us Deathstroke will be a character in it, Which personally i'm very excited about, and it was an awesome trailer at that. But as there have been a number of Batman games well be sure to find out what makes this one different and how it will better the previous games.

These are just a few of the confirmed games that will be at E3. And it would be a novel if i spoke about them all individually, a great novel nonetheless, but it would just be too much. So heres a list of some more games that are most anticipated for E3(not all are necessarily confirmed):
  • Assassins Creed
  • Ghost: Call of duty
  • Battlefield 4
  • Beyond Two Souls
  • Deadpool
  • Gran Turismo 6
  • Killzone
  • Metal Gear solid
  • Need for speed
  • Mario Kart (Wii U)
  • Quantam Break
  • Saints Row 4
And theres many many more to check for E3.

E3 will be on the 10th of June and it is destined to be an amazing event that will show everything we want to see.

Be sure to check us out in a few days, where ill be discussing the console war and what we want to see from the Next Gen at E3.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One

So with Ps4 showing a teaser video on the 20th of May of what the console may look like and Xbox One revealing there console on the 21st of May its clear that the Next Gen consoles really are round the corner.

Today I'm just going to break everything down and show what each can offer, also showing a list of games that have been confirmed for each.

Obviously there will still be the divide of what console is better but both companies did take different methods in how they presented the consoles. Ps4 took the approach of getting developers out and speaking about what games there going to be making and how you can share game play clips through social media and PSN. Where Xbox took the approach to present the amount of features they have. Including how they can skype and watch tv on the console. So it seems that Ps4 is more based for gaming and the Xbox is more of an entertainment system than a games consoles in my view.

The Differences

Shown below will be a list of Features that each have and the difference between them.

Feature                  PlayStation 4                    Xbox One

Optical Drive          Blu-Ray/DVD                    Blu-Ray/DVD

Game DVR             Yes                                   Yes

                             Jaguar processor 8
                                    cores

Portable                    PS Vita                              Smart Screen

Motion Control         Dual Shock 4                      Kinect 2

Subscription               N/A                                  N/A

Bluetooth                  Bluetooth 2.1                   Bluetooth 2.1

A/v Hookups            HDMI                               HDMI

As you can see from the specification there is not much difference. I think the defining factor of what console will be better will be the games that are brought out for each console. Obviously you will have the games like COD and Fifa and the likes of Watch dogs that will be made for both consoles but its the exclusives that will separate which one will be better. However there is also a preference in peoples opinions on what they want from there console. If they want it for an entertainment system for the likes of using it for Tv services Xbox would be the way forward or if they want a gaming console Playstation may be your preference. As i do feel Playstation 4 is more of a gaming console.

Games, Games, Games

Below is a list of the games that have been confirmed for each console.

PS4:

  • Deep Down (Capcom)
  • Destiny (Bungie)
  • Diablo III (Blizzard Entertainment)
  • DriveClub (Evolution Studios)
  • Final Fantasy (Sqaure Enix)
  • Infamous: Second Son (Sucker Punch)
  • Killzone: Shadow Fall (Guerrilla Games)
  • Sniper Elite 3 (505 Games)
  • Knack (Studios Japan)
  • Thief (Square Enix)
  • Watch Dogs (Ubisoft)
  • War Thunder (Gaijin Entertainment)
  • The Witch Hunter 3 (CD Projekt RED)
  • The Witness (Thekla)
  • Black Light Retribution (Zombie Studios)
  • Primal Carnage (Lukewarm Media)
  • Assasin Creed 4 ( Ubisoft)
These are the games that have been confirmed from the Ps4 Reveal

Xbox One:
  • Assassins Creed 4 (Ubisoft)
  • Battlefield 4 (EA)
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts (Infinity Ward)
  • Destiny (Bungie)
  • Fifa 14 (EA)
  • Forza Motorsport (Turn10)
  • Madden 25 (EA)
  • NBA Live 14 (EA)
  • Quantum Break (Remedy Entertainment)
  • Thief (Edios Studios)
  • UFC (EA)
  • Watch Dogs (Ubisoft)
These Games were confirmed on the Xbox Reveal

With the likes of Fifa and Cod these will be made for both consoles. So from the reveal there is a big difference in the amount of games that have been announced. Ps4 have announced more exclusive content that will only be available to them in a gaming sense. As stated before i do feel Xbox is more of an entertainment system and Ps4 is more of a Gaming console. This really is only the start of the Next Gen consoles and much more will be shown over the coming months so there will be a great deal of time to decide which console will be for you if any.

But the rivalry between both consoles is far from over and lets be honest even when released and the figures show how many are sold the argument of what console is better will always be as strong as ever. It really is down to a personal preference in which you like better. Be it for an entertainment system or a gaming console its still to be decided. However I'm sure both consoles will shine in there own way and present different features and games to make them unique. With both being released for later this year speculation on what will be better will be a fun and passionate argument for many years to come.

What console do you think will be better ?
